lyrics

We are social creatures.  I’ve enjoyed each time I’ve spoke with you.  You brought up several points about that politician that rang true.  Though I know it’s heading nowhere, when we talk like this I find I like to see it through.

I hear what I want to hear when you open your mouth. Just don’t pretend like you don’t know what I’m talking about.

You wanna talk about the nuclear situation in Japan.  You wanna talk about your Ex and how she hurt you real bad.  You read a real good book, your favorite meal was cooked.  I wait patiently.  I smile and nod my head.

I’ll say what I want to say when you close up your mouth.  Everything up to that point I could care less about.

Why can’t we just treat each other like they did in older movies?  Well, I guess those were actors anyhow.  I just want to talk about what I think really matters, but everyone I know who’s got a mouth is making sounds.
